Most calculators ask how much you want and work forwards. This one asks what you can hand over each month and works backwards — and it is perfectly willing to come back and tell you the answer is no.
Work backwards
Advances are rounded down to a round hundred rather than up, so the figure never quietly exceeds the payment you told us you were comfortable with.
Start from the payment
What you could hand over each month without the rest of the month falling apart.
The slider moves in $50 steps. This field does not — if your figure is $1,375, type $1,375.
Optional. If you tell us, we will say plainly whether that payment reaches it.
Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere. It stays in the address bar of this page so you can send yourself the link.
At $1,200 a month, this product is not right for you.
That payment carries about $953, and the smallest advance we write is $2,000, which needs $2,516.58 a month over 1 month. We would rather say that now than take you through an application that ends the same way.
The lowest monthly payment that reaches our minimum is $849.95, over 6 months. If that is out of reach, a conversation about the alternatives is a better use of your afternoon than a form.
A longer term carries a larger advance for the same payment, and costs more in total to do it. Both halves of that sentence are true, which is why both columns are here.
Two deliberate refusals
Both of these could be added, would make the page look more authoritative, and would be inventions.
What share of your income a payment should be
There are rules of thumb about this. We do not have evidence for any of them, and a confident-sounding percentage here would be exactly the kind of authoritative fiction this studio exists to avoid. You know your month. We know our fee schedule.
Whether you will be approved
This page is arithmetic on our published fee schedule, not a decision. The amount depends on the vehicle and your application. Nothing here is an offer, and nothing here implies one.
The floor, stated plainly
The smallest advance we write is $2,000, and over 6 months that is 5 monthly payments of $849.91 and a last payment of $849.95. Below that, there is no version of this product that works for you — and you should hear that here rather than after an application.

Where these figures come from
If this product is not the right shape for what you need, the help center is a better use of your afternoon than a form, and we would rather point you at it than take you through one.
Keep going
Everything here runs on the same published fee schedule, so no two tools can disagree.
You may cancel by midnight of the third calendar day after you sign, at no cost. You return the amount advanced and owe nothing further.
