Our margin, published
Two companies are paid in this transaction, and you can see both of them from here — what each one earns, on what basis, down to the dollar. This is not a page our category is in the habit of writing. We think that says more about the category than about us.
The whole model
You can read the rest of this page, or you can read this part and go. It is the same information — the rest is just us showing our work.
S2 Funding LLC earns the interest.
S2 Funding LLC, lender of record, advances the funds and charges interest on the amount advanced, for the whole term — which is the small half, and the half most often printed on its own.
Dollar Loans LLC earns the fee.
We are the Credit Access Business. We arrange the funding and charge a fee on the amount advanced, for each month the agreement runs. That is the large half, and it is the one that matters.
Nobody earns anything else.
There is no third line. Not for applying, not for paperwork, not for paying us early, and not for a person picking up the phone.
Credit Access Business
Dollar Loans LLC
Arranges the funding and charges the Credit Access Business fee, worked out on the amount advanced for each month the agreement runs.
Lender of record
S2 Funding LLC
Advances the funds and charges interest on the amount advanced, for the whole term. That interest is S2 Funding LLC's part only, and it is not the total cost of credit.
Everybody else: nothing
No third party takes a cut of your agreement. There is no broker line, no dealer line, no marketing line and no servicing line, because the schedule has room for exactly two charges and both of them are above. If somebody is paid to send you here, they are paid by us out of the fee you can already see — never added onto it.
Checkable: the schedule on this site lists two charges, and your agreement lists the same two. Any third line would have to appear on both.
Figures above are computed live for Amount advanced: $8,000 over 4 months from the published fee schedule. Change the config and this paragraph changes with it — there is nothing here typed in by hand.
The number to carry around
The margin on the example the calculator opens with. Take these three figures to anybody else in this category and ask them for theirs.
For arranging the funding
computed from the fee in our config
Interest on the money
computed from S2 Funding LLC's rate in our config
The finance charge: everything the credit costs
Those two figures are about thirty times apart, and that gap is the single most important thing to understand about this product. A quote that shows you only S2 Funding LLC’s interest is not wrong about that figure — it is simply not the cost of the transaction, and nothing about the smaller figure tells you the larger one is there.
So the annual percentage rate, both charges in one yearly rate, belongs here:
Follow the money
On $8,000 advanced over 4 months — the pair the calculator opens with, so you can go and check it.
Shares are of the total of payments on Amount advanced: $8,000 over 4 months — Total of payments: $16,265.33 in all. The strip is drawn from the same figures printed beside it.
Show your working
Not illustrations drawn by a designer. These are worked out from the published fee schedule every time this page is built, so they cannot drift from the disclosure.
$2,000 is the floor in our config, over a short term.
Paid to you, over 2 months
the amount advanced
The Credit Access Business fee, for arranging it
computed by the cost engine
Interest, charged by S2 Funding LLC, lender of record
computed by the cost engine
Both charges together. This is the finance charge
What you hand back in all
1 payment of this figure, then a last payment of $1,516.59
Open a row to see how that payment splits. The columns add across to the amount in the last one, and the last column adds down to the total of payments — if they ever disagree, the page is wrong and we want to hear about it.
Payment 1 of 2. Settle the whole balance before this one falls due and the fee for this month never accrues.
Payment 2 of 2. Settle the whole balance before this one falls due and the fee for this month never accrues.
The short list
Both of these are quoted from our disclosure, word for word, because they are the two a reader is most often asked to take on faith. There are 4 more that are true for a structural reason rather than a quoted one, and they live on the fee schedule with the rest of the document.
We do not charge: A penalty for paying early
Pay ahead, pay it off, pay the whole thing on a Tuesday because the bonus landed. It costs nothing extra.
Quoted from our disclosure
There is no prepayment penalty.
We do not charge: A charge for changing your mind
Signed, then slept on it and thought better of it? Give the money back inside the window and we are square.
Quoted from our disclosure
You may cancel by midnight of the third calendar day after you sign, at no cost. You return the amount advanced and owe nothing further.
The other 4 — an application fee, an origination fee, a charge for a payoff figure, a charge for paperwork or for talking to a person — are not on the schedule either, and the reason is printed beside each of them on the fee schedule. Everything we are willing to be held to is on our guarantees, each one with the clause that creates it attached — including the list of things we have deliberately not promised yet.
The obvious question
Because the alternative is asking you to trust a company you have never heard of, about money you need, at a moment you would rather not be reading anything at all. That is a lot to ask. Publishing the margin is a much smaller ask: you do not have to trust us, you can just check.
This is a genuinely expensive product. We are not going to dress that up, and the figures on this page do not flatter us. What we can tell you is that the price is the price — it is on screen before you give us anything, it does not move once you have signed, and there is no second charge waiting behind it.
If a number on this page ever disagrees with a number on your agreement, your agreement is what governs, and we want to hear about it.
And if you find somebody cheaper who will show you what they charge this plainly — take it. That is the whole point of publishing it.
Independently checkable
No star ratings, no funded-today counter, no customer stories. A regulator's database is a stronger citation than a five-star average, and it is one we cannot edit.
The fee, stated in advance
An arranging fee for each month the agreement runs, charged by Dollar Loans LLC, plus interest for the whole term, charged by S2 Funding LLC, both worked out on the amount advanced. Each is shown in dollars before you sign.
You can change your mind
You may cancel by midnight of the third calendar day after you sign, at no cost. You return the amount advanced and owe nothing further.
Paying early
There is no prepayment penalty.
In our own words, unedited
Quoted from our disclosure config, not rewritten for this page. If the two ever differ, the disclosure wins.
