Both outcomes, side by side, before you send a cent — the schedule as signed, and the schedule with a little more on it each month. It opens with an extra already in place so you can see the difference before you decide there is one.
Two plans, same shape
Neither plan is bigger, warmer or higher up than the other. A comparison that flatters one side before you have read it is not a comparison.
Your agreement
On top of the scheduled payment, every month, starting with the first.
$1,000 a month finishes it in 2 instead of 6, and keeps $2,892.87.
You would pay $2,189.88 a month and close it out in month 2 with a final payment of $2,056.55. The last payment is trimmed to the balance — you never overpay it, and there is no penalty for finishing early.
Plan A
Stick to the schedule
Plan B
Add $1,000 each month
Plan B costs less
Finishes in month 2
Trimmed to the balance, never rounded up
For $2,800 over 6 months on the schedule, plan A.
Tell us before you send it
The part nobody explains
This is the single most common misunderstanding about paying ahead on a monthly-fee product, and it is worth reading.
The fee is charged by the month, not by the day
Dollar Loans LLC charges an arranging fee worked out on the amount advanced, for each month the agreement runs. So an extra payment saves you money at the exact moment it removes a whole month from the agreement — and not a cent before that. Fifty dollars a month on a four-month agreement will leave you ahead on the balance and pay precisely the same finance charge.
Say what the money is for
An overpayment can be applied to the balance or held as a credit toward your next installment. Only the first one shortens the agreement. Tell us which you want when you send it and there is nothing else to it — same money, different outcome, and we would rather you got the one you meant.
Paying early
Who charges what
How the annual percentage rate is put together
Where these figures come from
If you can comfortably put a large amount aside every month, a shorter term at the outset costs less than paying a longer one down early. The instrument shows every term side by side, so the difference is plain.
Keep going
Each one opens with these same two numbers already in it.
